What is Blogger?

Jump to navigationJump to search
Blogger is a blog-publishing service, it allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was developed by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in the year 2003. The blogs are hosted by Google and generally accessed from a subdomain of blogspot.com. Blogs can also be served from a custom domain owned by the user (like www.domainname.com) by using DNS facilities to direct a domain to Google's servers. A user can have up to 100 blogs per account.
Up until May 1, 2010, Blogger also allowed users to publish blogs to their own web hosting server, via File Transfer Protocol. All such blogs had to be changed to either use a blogspot.com subdomain, or point their own domain to Google's servers through DNS.

For all the new bloggers who want to try blogging should start at blogger.com and after getting some experience and good traffic they can move their blog to WordPress for more income.
In blogger, Google takes 32% of the total income through Adsense. Rest 68% is the blog owners income.
After getting a good response the blog owner can apply for Google Adsense.
Nowadays the terms and conditions for getting approval in Adsense are a little bit strict due to so many fake blogs. But if you have unique content in your blog then surely it will help you to rank higher in search engines as well as getting Adsense approval.
